"Unable to open user login file" and "access to file ...\rights.dat is denied"

I have my VSS server become infected with a virus and I had wipe the machine and rebuild it. The VSS data was on another partition which remained unaffected. I've completed the rebuild of the VSS server, and all seems to be well, i.e. I can login, and access the VSS data, etc. Except for one problem. I cannot login from a client machine. I get several access denied messages (see title for a couple of them). I can access the VSS share from the client through the file system, and I can log in as the user from the server. Nothing on the client has changed, i.e. it's been working fine up to 2 days ago.

Any ideas anyone?
