"Checkout error or user cancellation" in vss2005

If I try to Checkout a file via VisualStudio 2005 - I get following error: dialog with "Checkout error or user cancellation" title which says "pathfilename - File was not checked out". If I try to checkout a file via VSS Explorer, I don't get any error message, but file remains unceckouted. Local file becames not read-only, but file status remains as checked-in. Check-in also don't work in same way. Get Latest Version and other operations work fine. I can do check-outs and check-ins from another computers. and I can check-out on this computer via vss 6.0

I know its been asked before but no answers for that.

anyone encounter this problem and solved it?

Thank you

Hi Eran r,

Try checking your server binding to make sure that the project is binded to the correct server path. Open the project in VS2005, goto File-> Source Control -> Change Source Control.

Hi Eran,

Please check the Output window of Visual Studio (View->Output) to see if there is any additional error info. Also, try analyzing your VSS database to see if it is healthy.

Thanks.
