Problem while Installing VSTO Application(An Excel Add In)

Hi,

We have developed an Excel Add Inn Application(ExcelAddInn1) In VS2008 for Excel 2003.
Application is working fine on development environment, but we are not able be create a SETUP properly.

Setup is not able to Install ExcelAddInn1 on target machine, it is not even able to install on development machine, when we are trying from Installer(Setup.exe).

It is working fine only when we run application from VS2008.

Please provide some detailed help on How to create setup for such kind of AddIns

If required I can post or send my source code and setup.exe

Thanks
Siraj

Hi Siraj,

Thank you for your post.

To deploy VSTO application, Faisal has posted some good suggestions for your concern. Additionally, here is a video of tutorial on "How Do I: Deploy a VSTO Add-In?".
Please refer to: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/office/bb851702.aspx

For Visual Studio Add-in deployment, you also can try using Inno Setup.
Here is a good tutorial: HOWTO: Create a setup for a Visual Studio 2005 / 2008 add-in using Inno Setup

FYI:
Recommended reading the following article about the issue that Office instances do not load any Add-In, which provides information to troubleshoot common problems of add-ins for Visual Studio or Office applications (shared add-ins).
Please check: HOWTO: Troubleshooting Visual Studio and Office add-ins

For more resources of Visual Studio Add-in, please see: http://www.mztools.com/resources_vsnet_addins.aspx

BTW, this forum is for the support of Visual Studio installation. Since your issue is related to VSTO, if you have any further concern, you could post your thread on Visual Studio Tools for Office forum. This will make answer searching in the forum easier and be beneficial to other community members as well.

Thank you for your understanding.

Hope this helps! Have a good week. :)
