fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'MSCOREE.lib'

I have just installed Visual Studio 2008 Professional Edition. I have created the simplest of programs from the Microsoft beginners tutorial and cannot get past the error created while linking "fatal error LNK1104: cannot open file 'MSCOREE.lib' ".

Hi Tjz1962,

More clarification with you. What kind of projects have you created? What's your OS? When did you receive this error message?

I found the similar issuewhen someone attempted to build an application.
See: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/vs2008prereleaseinstallandsetup/thread/669404bb-6d01-487c-97ab-283c1e378b56/

Could you please try the workaround that are mentioned by GrantC to add this lib to your library paths in Visual Studio 2008?
You can go to Tools >> Options >> Projects and Solution >> VC++ Directories >> Platform: Win32 or x64 >> Show directories for: Libraries files.
For more information on VC++ Directories, see: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/t9az1d21.aspx

Let me know if it works.

Thanks
