Hi,

I am facing a problem that the VS envirnoment doesnt recognise the GAT after installation. I am unable to see the guidance package manager option in the Tools Menu.I tried re-installing GuidanceAutomationExtensions and GuidanceAutomationToolkit.

Thanks

Can you please uninstall and try installing the latest GAX and GAT releases from July08? After installing GAX please save a copy of a temporal file named "gax-[randomstuffhere].txt" that will be written to your users' temporal directoy. This file contains additional installation info and may help us diagnose any problems during install. Please do the same for GAT.

If after installing the latest bits you still can't see that menu option please send me the log files mentioned above. Either post them here or use vga AT clariusconsulting DOT net.

thanks,
-Victor.

Hi All,

I solved this problem and its a lot easier than re-installation. Open VS command prompt and type the command

devenv /ResetSkipPkgs

This will re-initialise all the menus and check for skipped packages while initialising the VS environment.

Hope this helps,

Thanks,

Hi, are you able to create a Guidance Package (File->New->Project->Guidance Packages->Guidance Package Development)? The Guidance Package Manager should appear once you have a solution opened.

Hi,

I am unable to open a guidance package solution and I get the following error.

value cannot be null
parameter name: serviceProvider

Thanks,

Hi apurva1,

Have you uninstalled a previous GAX version or is this a brand new GAX v1.3 (July 07 CTP) installation?

Hi,

This is not a brand new installation of GAT. I have been experiencing this problem for a long time now. If I try to register a package VS crashes and when I open it again the it doesnt detect GAT.

Thanks,

Apurva
