Hi,

When in VS2008 and just successfully rebuild the Guidance Package and Quick/Full registered as appropriate, of course next I want to test it.

I can start another instance of VS2008 and create a new project with my Guidance package, as expected.

However, if I start a instance of VS2008 from the VS2008 SDK for the Experimental Hive, no Guidance features are present.

Is there a technique for syncing the Hives, oris it just not possible to test that way?

Unfortunately it does not appear to work for my VS2008,

I have,

<HostData>

<RegistrationSettings>/hive=9.0Exp</RegistrationSettings>

<Menu Name="SCFItem" Text="Smart Client Factory">

<CommandBar Name="Item"/>

</Menu>

etc etc


But I get Registration Setttings 9.0Exp invalid

Of course I do have the SDK installed, and can run Reset the Hive, and the Icon to Start VS2008 in the hive.

But there may be a prior step to getting the VS2008 Experimental version ready - for example. Do I need to load GAX and GAT explicitly into this version, or will the Reset copy it from my normal version.
