Hi All,
I'm unable to install the Mobile Client Software Factory on my machine. When I start the installation process I get the error message saying
"This installer requires the Guidance Automation Toolkit ver. 1.1 which is not present on the computer. Please install it and try again."
I look into the event viewer andfound the following entry.
"Product: Mobile Client Software Factory - July 2006 -- This installer requires the Guidance Automation Toolkit ver. 1.1 which is not present on the computer. Please install it and try again.
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.".
I have followed the following installation process:
- Installed Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK on my installation of Visual Studio 2005.
- Installed Guidance Automation Extensions Technology Preview (June 2006 Release for Visual Studio 2005)
- Installed Guidance Automation Toolkit Technology Preview (June 2006 Release for Visual Studio 2005)
I installed the MSI packages from Vista as the administrator. I went through the process of initiating the command prompt as an administrator, and using msiexec /i to install the packages. I get the same result. I tried installing it in WIndows Server 2003 and I get the same result. I begining to think there might be an issue with the MSI Packages.
I have checked the version number in "Add Remove Programs" and found it to be 1.0.51104. So, I tried googling to see if anyone has ver 1.1 of GAT (for which the mobile client software factory is looking) and did not come up with much. I tried MS web site as well but could not pull anything substancial.
Haveany of you faced this situation? Any solutions? Any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated. TIA.
