T4 in a custom tool

I just wanted to revisit an earlier post made about T3 but this time about T4. Can T4 be used in a custom tool and can it be distributed with the tool? What are the license restrictions? I'm currently looking for a text template engine to use in a new tool and ran into T4 but am stuggling to find information about it.

You should ask that question on the DSL tools forum. T4 is owned by the DSL team.

Thanks.

Hi,

there is also a T4Editor created by tangible engineering. It supports syntax-highlighting of generated code as well - not only T4 code sections. Intelli-Sense is includeded for T4 as well. In addition it comes with modelling tools you can use to create input data for your transformations in addition to good old xml and dbs.

The FREE Edition also includes Intelli-Sense for the most important namespaces, so i would try this one.
