Hi,

We have a requirement in our project to use Smart Client Software Factory(SCSF).For that I have installed the following components in order.

1)Guidance Automation Extensions(GAX) Febuary 2007.
2) Smart Client Software Factory(SCSF) April 2008
3) Smart Client Software Factory(SCSF) April 2008 Fixed for VS 2008 SP
4) Enterprise Library 4.1 October 2008.

After that i tried to create a SCSF application. But to my worry i got the following error.

Recipe Framework Error

Value cannot be null
Parameter name: serviceProvider

System.ArgumentNullException: Value cannot be null.
Parameter name: serviceProvider
at Microsoft.Practices.ComponentModel.ServiceHelper.GetService(IServiceProvider serviceProvider, Type serviceType, Object component)
at Microsoft.Practices.RecipeFramework.VisualStudio.Templates.VszWizard.EnvDTE.IDTWizard.Execute(Object Application, Int32 hwndOwner, Object[]& ContextParams, Object[]& CustomParams, wizardResult& retval)

I tried reinstalling all the ccomponents right from Visual studio itself but could find a solution till date. Can someone help me to figure out the reason for this error. Any solution is greatly appreciated.

Where is the Guidance Automation Toolkit (GAT) installation in your list?

One more Question:
Have you installed the GAX for Visual Studio 2008 and Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1 Update (GAXP1409)?

Thanks for ur reply. Our development doesn't necessitate installation of GAT. My team members are able to work with GAX installation. The problem is that i was the only one who is getting this error during SCSF proj creation.

We are able to work with Feb 2007 version of GAX

Thanks for your reply. The problem got fixed. My windows profile got corrupted so that i was unable to create a SCSF project.
