I have successfully installed (and re-installed) Guidance Automation Extensions July 2007 CTP on my laptop and have been trying to install the Guidance Automation Toolkit July 2007 CTP. Everytime I run the msi I eventually get the following error "Resource error has occured and no fallback has been provided: Request failed.. --> Request failed."

I had no problems when I tried installing the GAX and and GAT on my PC at work 12 months ago so thinking it could be a problem with the new versions I dug out the old versions from work (June 2006 CTP) and tried installing those - again when I come to install the GAT I get the same error.

The error message isn't particularly helpful so I am at a bit of a loss. The only thing I can think it could be is that I have inherited my latop from someone who has partitioned the hard drive. The "C drive" hasn't enough space (left) on it to install Visual Studio 2005 so I have had to put it on the "D drive". Could it be that the GAT installer is expecting there to be a visual studio file on the "C drive" and not finding it because it is on the "D drive"?

Hi Simon,

No, your hd partitions should not have any issues. Try to run the installer using the cmd line to get a detailed log:
msiexec /l* log.txt /i GAT.msi (replace GAT.msi with the proper filename).
