We're moving from VS '05 to '08 but the Guidance Automation Extensions/Toolkit installation is giving us troubles.
On a Windows XP Pro machine, Visual Studio '05 with CAB, SCSF, Guidance Automation Extensions and Guidance Automation Toolkit was installed and then I installed Visual Studio '08 as well, When I tried to uninstall Guidance Automation Extensions and Toolkit, the de-installationfailed in a particularly miserable fashion. After a couple days of cruising the net, manually editing of the registry and generally flailing about in a random fashion, I was able to uninstall GAX/GAT and then reinstall it. However, the installation process is not giving me a chance to select Visual Studio '08. The installation wizard screen that gives a user the chance to specify a destination folder and select either '05 or '08 is not being presented. Any ideas why this particular screen in the installation wizard process is not being displayed and, more importantly, how can I fix the problem so I can specify that GAT/GAX associates itself with Visual Studio '08?
