No sure what I have done wrong here, but I am stuck.

I have installed the Guidances Automation Extensions, and tool kit from February 2007.

When I try to install the Web Service Software Factory (refresh)it chugs along for a minute or so and I start getting these errors:

• Unable to get installer types in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\PublicAssemblies\Microsoft.Practices.ServiceFactory.Asmx.Installer.dllassembly, --> Unable to load one r more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for the information.
• Unable to get installer types in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\PublicAssemblies\Microsoft.Practices.ServiceFactory.DataAccess.Installer.dllassembly, --> Unable to load one r more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for the information.
• Unable to get installer types in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\PublicAssemblies\Microsoft.Practices.ServiceFactory.Asmx.Installer.dllassembly, --> Unable to load one r more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for the information.

• Unable to get installer types in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\PublicAssemblies\Microsoft.Practices.ServiceFactory.WCF.Security.Installer.dllassembly, --> Unable to load one r more of the requested types. Retrieve the LoaderExceptions property for the information.

After clicking OK to each of these errors, the only option the install is rolled back.

All of the referenced files are in the indicated (C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\Common7\IDE\PublicAssemblies) directory.

I also have Visual Studio 2005, Extensions for WCF and WPF installed along with Enterprise Library 2.0 and 3.1 installed.

Any help would be appreciated.

Nope, I have not been able to solve this problem. I created a Virtual PC and the installed there with no problem, so I have been working in that environment. I haveinstalled on my personal PC and a couple Virtual PC and have not been able to reproduce the problem that I have with my primary work computer.

I think it has something to do with installing an early version of the GAX, that I did not have time to work with it, so forgot about it. I had to unintall it to install the new version and have not been able to install the web service software factory since. I have meen able to install the Smart Client and Web Client software factories without issue however.

When I get time I still revisit the issue in hopes that I have more luck, I have uninstalled and reinstall everything I can think of, VS 2005, SQL Server 2005 and all associated installs. Getting close to rebuilding computer, just don't currently have the time to lose.

Still look for a solution.

(What is really scary is that I have recomended that we standardize new development in these factories and I can not get it to install reliably!)
