Guidance Automation Toolkit July 2007 Bug

Hi,

I have got the GAT july 2007 CTP installed on my laptop for Vs2008. I tried creating a sample guidance which gets automatically installed when i install GAT. Once we create the sample it generates all the required projects. (Setup, installer, guidance)

Under the Main Guidance Project section we find a lot of folders like Actions, Templates, Converters etc.. Out of all, the Templates folder has a special option which gets displayed when you right click on it. The option is something like "Set Item Build Properties". All this is fine until i right click on the project and select Properties. In the properties window we get an option asking us to select the Target Framework (Only in Vs2008) like 2.0, 3.0 or 3.5.

When i try changing the Target Framework to 3.0 or 3.5 save and then go back to the Guidance Project and right-click on tempaltes I no longer see the option on the Context menu "Set Item Build Properties".

This is a serious issue. Can you Please let me know if this bug has been already logged or is it something that is unnoticed all this while.

THanks,
Ranjith

Hi Ranjith,

The July 2007 CTP of GAX was meant to be used with VS 2008 beta and not the RTM version so there may be issues like the one you describe. I'll take a look at it and see what I find.

In the meantime, what you can do is to go to your template files and manually set each one "Copy To Output Directory" property to true and "Build Action" to Content which is what this GAT recipe does.

thanks,
-Victor.

You should expect a refreshed GAX working for VS2008 RTM anytime now:

If the GAT is not for the RTM version of the VS 2008 product. When will an update be published which does support the released version of the product?
