GAX/GAT 2007 July installation problem

I did this:

1.removed a previous GAX.

2. installed GAX July, which succeeded

3. installing GAT now says "Guidance Automation Toolkit is not installed. Click Yes to be dreicted to a web page ......"

Do others experience this a well?

Any help appreaciated.

Hi

TheGAT installer is looking for a specificregistry entry which is

SOFTWARE\Microsoft\VisualStudio\8.0\InstalledProducts\RecipeManagerPackage\Package

that registry should exists andit shouldhave "{77d93a80-73fc-40f8-87db-acd3482964b2}" as value.

You can check if you already have installed GAX, opening aVs solution and verify if in the Tools menu there are an option called "Guidance Package Manager".

Hi Adrian,

I start the GAX setup and immediatly getting a Window saying "Guidance Automation Extensions is not installed. Click Yes to be redirected to a web page where you can download it."

Do you maybe know how the GAT detects the GAX ?

Thank you very much

Hi Thomas, one question just to me make sure. Are you trying to install GAT and the error message is that "GAX" is not currently installes, aren´t you? If it´s the case, are you sure that you have the correct version of GAT for the currently GAX installed (GAT july for GAX july, GAT Feb for GAX feb, etc).

Thanks,
-Adrian

I removed GAX and installed it again, selected the "Install for Orcas" Checkbox and now I have the registry entry above.

I also see the package loaded in the VS About Box.

The only thing is, in Orcas I donot see an entry in the Tools menu.

I could install the GAT and I can craete Guidance Packages.

So I will start to play..

Adrian and Jose, thank you very much
