GAT Documentation/Walkthroughs

Hi,

Besides the documentation included in GAT, is there any other documentation or walkthroughs available online?

My first goal is to create a solution template based on an existing one (with based projects), and starting to create the recipes, wizards and actions on it. This kind of documentation with samples would be nice!

Hi Paulo,

The Clarius SFT (http://www.softwarefactoriestoolkit.net) includes a GAT Hands On Lab, an updated version of the one shown at TechEd 2005. This HoL walks you through the basics of creating a guidance package.

Then you have several examples in SFT too and of course there are bigger and complex examples shipped by p&p as the Web Client SF, Web Services SF, EntLib AppBlock, etc. These may be a bit intimidating at first, but once you get the basics of GAX looking at them could be of great help.

Depending on what you are doing the SmartClient Software Factory (www.codeplex.com/smartclient). Has some architectual handson labs (http://www.codeplex.com/smartclient/Wiki/View.aspx?title=Hands-On-Labs&referringTitle=Home) that do a good job of showing you how to build GAT recipes for it. It has some examples including modifing existing files and things. I learned alot just by following through those. It is for SCSF, but it teaches you GAT pretty well.
