Future Roadmap for GAT

I am looking at GAT for a few months now. I am at a point where i need to make a decision on whether to choose GAT in the production environment.

Though GAT looks quite promising , but it is still in beta state, does anyone know of the roadmap for GAT? When is Mircrosoft coming out with an official release for this? What is the support plan for GAT in the future releases of Visual studio ? Are there any new features in the pipeline to be added to GAT ?

If anyone knows anything in this regards please do let me know.

cheers

Yes - as Tim shows we are making a big bet on guidance automation in the patterns & practices team for our new Software Factory deliverables.

In the short term we plan on releasing a new CTP of GAT and GAX which will be a minor maintenance release from the current December 2005 CTP (mainly bug fixes and some usability improvements)

In the longer term we hope to support more advanced guidance automation scenarios and hopefully integrate many of these features directly into Visual Studio. However at this stage we don't have solid plans or timeframes for this work.

So in the meantime GAT and GAX are likely to retain the CTP label while we figure out the longer term roadmap, but we will be building some great p&p deliverables on top of the current releases and we'll make sure adopters of the currentGAT/GAX don't get left behind.

Hope this helps

I realize that the download still says it is a CTP, but the patterns and practices group is using it for more and more projects. I can't say what it's future will be but I don't think it will go away any time soon.

Check out these GDN projects:
