I am unable to log into passport. Everytime I enter my information, I get fatal login error message. I am also unable to send links from other websites. I recently changed my password to discover I still have the same problems. What is up?? |

The forums had a few issues with passport some time ago, but I'm not sure if this may be the same thing now -- I'll ping some people to try to find this out.
thanks, -Victor. |

Hi Memom,
I forgot to tell you. Sometimes when I get fatal error when signing in what I do is re-enter the Forums URL in the browser and the homepage appears and I'm actually signed in already, which can be tell by the "Sign Out" button displaying at the left top of the page. Then I can reply to posts without any issues. Sure it's confusing but it works.
If you try that, let me know if that helps,
thanks, -Victor.

Hi Victor: I tried what you suggested to Memom, but it did not work for me. Do you have any other suggestions or know where else I can inquire? Thanks, Tru |

Hi TruBlaque,
Sometimes deleting the cookies cache for your browser may work. But I've really no idea why the login errors happen so frequently and only to some users. I've co-workers who never experienced a problem while I get these errors very often.
HTH, -Victor.

Aloha - Yes, I get the same fatal error as well. I dont know what to do. I am building websites and when I try to test the forms or email links, I cant. And now it seems that other people here cant use it as well. Please let me know if there is a fix for it. I desperately need it. Mahalo! |

I am having the same problem. It only started after I did a total recovery. I have a high speed cable internet connection. I must have set the computer up wrong because even Windows Live didn't recognize me and I had to prove I had a subscription..
I have lost my identity. I am thinking of doing another recovery and getting help with setting it up every step of the way. Some places with high security, like online banking, I am asked to sign in over and over like I go offline or something.
I have signed into passport 2 times already today. |

I had this problem after changing internet providers. I couldn't reply to ads on websites that did not show e-mail addresses such as craigslist nor could I forward a website via e-mail....unless I copied and pasted in my web based service. Maybe the following will help. Your Internet provider will probably be different but it should be similar. Be sure to checkyour internet providerswebsite for accurate info regarding server name etc. The problem was I had to use CTC's e-mail (new service). After setting it up I now have my messages forwarded to my old web based email so I don't have to remember to check ctc or tell everyone I've changed email accounts!
1. Open Outlook Express
2. Close any boxes that may be up, such as error messages
3. Click Tools at the top, then Click on Accounts
4. Click on the Mail tab; remove any old e-mail accounts by clicking once on them, and then clicking the remove button
5. Click Add, then click Mail
6. For Display Name, put in your real name, any way you would like, then click Next
7. For E-mail address, put in your e-mail address, then click Next
8. Incoming mail server type will be: POP3, and it should already be in the box.
9. Incoming mail server name will be: Determined by yourinternet Provider
10. Outgoing mail server name will be: Determined by your internet provider
11. Click next
12. Put your password for your specific username (showing in the Account Name Box) in the password box and then click next, DO NOT CHOOSE LOGIN USING SECURE PASSWORD AUTHENTICATION.
13. Click finish
I hopethis helps someone |

I've had the worst experience with Microsoft Passport. I can't figure out why I'm getting that Fatal Login Error. hr = 80041035, f = -2147217355. Of course I can long into Windows Live Messenger and sign in, but can't figure out why my passport ID won't work with some sites and wonder if it works with any. I did the simplest thing and went to internet options and changed my internet properties and clicked on overide automatic cookie handling but that didn't do any good.
I thinkPassport is a worthless servicefor people to use. If Microsoft was smart they'dof let Web site ownersrun the complete program on their ownservers instead of softy doing itthemselves.
Any advice would be great on how to fix this problem,

Your situation is easy to correct. Unfortunately in MSFT Windows you can't just click ona photoand select thesend to option, because that feature only works with Outlook Express. You can try and use Outlook Express, but then you have to change all your settings, e-maill address's etc. Simple solution is to just copy and then paste the photos in the e-mail page of your e-mail provider. Though I agree it's still a pain to have to do. Somepeople tell me to giveup on Microsoft and use Yahoo. |

I have the same problem. I think it has to do with Outlook being set up wrong. I have found that I can right click on the link and Copy Shortcut to paste in browser or email. Hope this helps.
