I want to create a GUI that is very professional looking to recieve data from a WPD. Ie: I have a temperature sensor circuit looked up to a COM port, and want to have the GUI read this info. Can I create such a thing using either GAT or GAX?

GAX/GAT is a set of tools to extend Visual Studio in an easly way. I think that you're looking for something else and GAX/GAT will not resolve your requirement.
