(1) Visual web developer 2008 express, when doing; HELP - Register Product I do not get a registration key.

(2) VWD 2008 validates the website, but does not compile the code-behind into a DLL

For your first question, you cansimply run your Express Edition and click Help -> Register Product. Then follow the steps one by one.

For your second question, it's the limitation of VWD2008. It's by design.
