Registration of the VB Express edition is not working for me. After the 'Register now' link is clicked during startup, a blank page is shown in IE. Not able to use the product. I am hoping that you can resolve this issue sooner.

No need of releasing new versions of the product, if it cannot be used.....

Yea I have the same question. Now I can not edit anything. after I putting the email its a blank page. I can not even go into visual basic. I think that is THE Microsoft peoples problem and they have to fix it soon.

The Registration link is not working. IE stops working after I input my user name and password combination to do product activation.

Fix this!

Is there anyway to obtain these on a DVD. My ADSL connection is very slow where I live and work (<1MB).

I'd be willing to pay for the postage and time (within reason)

Contact me directly - I'm in the UK BTW

The registration site for the Beta versions has been "taken down"? Download and install the RTM versions...

Wouldn't it have made much more sense to display a web page with a message rather than a blank page when trying to register a Beta version? That way people would not waste so much time trying to figure out why they cannot register their product. Another option, of course, would have been to let people continue to register and use the beta version, perhaps even with a note on the activation page that there is a better version available. Also, the programs do have a start page to let people knowwhen the beta versionshave been supplanted.

Alas, I no longer have high-speed internet, and my dial-up connection is flakey at best. At least I still have 30 days use of the beta version I downloaded earlier this year while I wait for an install CDwith a new (registerable) version.

Mr. Hutchins,

I don't think I would be too proud of VB Express since it is full of bugs like, if you have more then one bound combobox, it will change the data in your database; it will crash if you try to make a build while debug is running; and many, many more. The help asist that come with the program is full of broken links and incomplete samples which take hours and hours to decipher if it can be done. I have given up and have uninstalled the nightmare and gone back to ASM. I presently think that ASM is a much superior programming base then any that MS has produced to date. I removed C++ because it took too long to ever write a program with it.

If MS had produced a language that was complete, their operating system would not crash as it does. To add insult to injury, MS has made the move to WPA so hard drives can't be cleaned up, it is getting harder every day to allow MS products on my computers. Every time one of MS's products is installed, it is a battle of nerves to see what damage it is going to do.

Is there a solution to the registration/blank web page problem mentioned? I teach programming in a high-school and have had the network manager install visual studio my machine only to discover that i cannot use it without registration and that the registration process is broken.

i am very keen for some kind of resolution - either so that i can get it working or look elsewhere for my programming IDE.

Hello, I´m a big fan of C# and .Net in general, so we decided to migrate from java (Netbeans)+ portgresql to VS Express + SQL Express, about two years ago, because .Net is a great tools for developers and it allows us to develop very fast.

But VS 2008 is full of bugs, we have try to use it and simply don't work, is slowwwwww to the hell mainly for web development (we use core 2 duo machines and 2GB of RAM), and sometimes it behaves erraticaly, like it have life or something like that, even with the hotfixes. It seems the editors were made by semi junior programmers, hehe.

I recomend NOT to install it, until it have a service pack or something. It have many great ideas for development, but simply don´t work, and instead of being a help is a head ache. Use Visual Studio 2005 instead, unless you really need to use all the features of Net Framework 3.5

That is the same problem that I have. Vista will not allow registration in either VB Express 2005 or VB Express 2008. What are we supposed to do, lose all the work and download and install every 30 days? At least 2 of us have this registration problem, whether both are related to Vista is not certain. Looks like Microsoft would aware of this by now!
