Hi all,
My microsoft visual express edition (this include c#, C++, VB and web developer) is seriously corrupted. I am unable to uninstall, repair or reinstall them.
Is there anyway I can do a force uninstallation of the corrupted application?
Thank You.

Hello,
So, I have no idea how seriously your Visual Studio Express Editions are corrupted. If your Visual Studio is some pre-release or beta version, I think you could follow these steps and an auto-uninstall tool to clean up the software, here is for Visual Studio 2005 Express Editions, and here is for 2008 version.
Or I think we could try to repair the installation of Visual Studio Express Editions, then uninstall through normal ways.
Any more questions, please just let me know.
Thanks,
Best Regards,
Lingzhi

Hello,
So, your Visual Studio Express Editions are not installed correctly on your machine? Or they were working fine one month ago, however they failed to work one day?
Thanks,

Hello,
Would you please have a check is there any third-party Add-In installed on Visual Studio Express Editions? If so, please uninstall them first.
Please just tell me if you have any other questions.
Thanks,

OK here is how I was able to remove this menace from my xp pro machine. First off let me say I've had less trouble removing virii than this. I was able to remove sql2008 express via the add/remove programs. Yet when I tried to uninstall vb2008 or c# etc I kept getting the same error as you mentioned above. So I noticed that that the windows installer service was not running, and I believe was causing this error. I opened services.msc and saw that the services was running yet after the first part of the uninstall the service was stopped. So while the uninstall was counting pennies, or whatever it does I kept hitting the refresh button on services. Once I saw the service stopped I restarted it, and then the uninstall would finally happen. I repeated the process for each of the programs in the suite until finally my machine was clear of this nasty thing they call visual express 2008. I realize this is kind of like visiting a witch doctor. It may not even be the correct way to do this, but when you get disparate...
