I got problem in installing Visual C# Express Edition. When i start the installation, it gives one error box --> Suite Integration Toolkit Executable has encountered a problem and needs to close.Could anybodysolve my problem?

If you have Windows XP, do you have SP2 installed?
Make sure you use windows update to get updates that are critical.
I had the same problem but able to fix it. Check your HAL (Hardware Abstraction Layer). If it is like this "Hardware Abstraction LayerVersion = "5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158)",RC1 or RC2 instead of RTM, it is beta version, so you need to upgrade. Then you are done.

I encountered the error this morning when trying to install .net framework 2 & 3 sp1. I have all critical and optional updates installed. My hal version is 5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158) <-- RTM. Any other ideas?

My HAL version is 5.1.2600.2180 (xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158) but the message still shows when I try to install .NET Framework 3.5

I have the same problem as the guy at the top
when I tried to install visual C# 2008 express edition the same error message popped up.
I tried your solution.
I have confirmed that I am running on windows xp SP 2 and then I installed windows installer,this process goes without a problem, but the suite integration toolkit issue still arose. when I tried to install the .NET 2.0 the setup suddenly stopped with error message "installation failed",no other details.
please tell me how to solve my problem? answers from anyone will be appreciated.
