Error on downloading C# Express Edition

"Setup.exe ceased to function" (Possibly not the excat wording in english version, just a rough translation).

"The following component could not be downloaded:

Microsoft Visual C# 2008 Express Edition with SP1 - ENU"

I checked the troubleshooting guide but it didn't offer any working solution.

I run Vista (32 bit Home Premium) that is fully up to date.

Earlier on I had trouble even starting the download due to an old version of 2008 Visual Studio that I uninstalled.

Thanks already ^^

Hello,

Only from the information you offered, I think we could not tell the root cause right now. More detail information like setup and error logs are much helpful. So would you please use this collection utility to get the error and setup logs, upload the %TEMP%/vslogs.cab to some server and offer us the URL? You could easily sign up for 5GB free space at http://skydrive.live.com only with your Live Passport.

Thanks,

Best Regards,

Turn on your WIndows Installer service and Windows Update Service.
Then turn them off after you installed it.

That worked for me.
