Hi HuaMin Chen, Ignore the previous reply given to you. You can still download the 2005 version. I have answered this query earlier and you can find that in the following link: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/Vsexpressvc/thread/62c8213f-73d8-41cf-af68-76096981dc3c/#c2ffb63a-aa0b-4e14-a951-31c4bc926d17
Best regards, Rajesh R Subramanian.
That's interesting. The only way I can get to the 2005 Express downloads is by clicking Learn more>> underneath the Windows Development graphic. Clicking the graphic itself leads to info about downloading VS 2008 Express editions. I can't help feeling this is a mistake on Microsoft's part...

Visual C++ Express 2005 is no longer available. You can get the 2008 version here: http://www.microsoft.com/express/download/

Hi David, Yes, it does look like a mistake on their part. I've tried talking to them a few times about this, but nobody wants to listen. It's unbelievable how simple things like this can be made so very convoluted. Can't help being amazed at it. On the brighter side, at least we have a way to download it. :-)
Best regards,

Many thanks to all. I've again set up C++ 2008 express using the link after having removed the previous installation. But I still have got the prompt to register that when accessing the tool. Then it keeps waitingfor something from the Microsoft site (which is) https://profile.microsoft.com/RegSysProfileCenter/wizard.aspx?fu=http%3a%2f%2fmsdn.microsoft.com%2fen-us%2fvsreg%2fdefault.aspx%3frel%3dvs2008%26h%3df843e8f3527024ac%26pid%3d91909-152-0000052-60562%26bn%3d030729.01%26r%3dy%26lcid%3d1033&wizid=c25356b7-91cf-4efe-9b63-b96613cc330e&lcid=1033like last time I've experienced!
Many Thanks & Best Regards, HuaMin Chen |

IIRC you don't have to register any of the express editions. Visit my (not very good) blog at http://c2kblog.blogspot.com/ |
