Document Explorer Hyperlinks Not Clickable URLs. Non-responsive.

On new XP install, patched thru SP3, Visual Studio 2008 with SP1, and SQL Dev Ed 2008. Using Document Explorer to read Help/Books Online, local documentation.

The hyperlinks for references to other ms-help pages DO NOT WORK. You cannot click through. The links are blue, indicating they are links, and you can right mouse and select properties, and see the ms-help URL underlying the link, but they are not clickable hyperlinks.

What gives? I thought it might be that I have FireFox as default browser, so I changed to IE as default. Nada.

Have tried searching at Microsoft and googling, can find nothing referencing this problem.
