Field Names but No Data

VS2005 - Winforms - SQL 2005 - First time using Crystal Reports

I've been searching for hours and found many with the same problem but no answer.

I drop a crystalReportViewer1 on a new form and then use the wizard to bind my database, table, and selected fields.

The CrystalReport1.rpt looks normal but when I run the program all I see are the header field names. There is no data.

I tested the table with a datagridview and it works okay.

Looking in the Field Explorer / Database Fields I see my selected fields have check marks.

What am I doing wrong? Where is the data?

Thanks for any help with this. I've wasted many hours.

After looking at my server connections I found the following message:

“Enterprise connectivity has not been detected on this
machine. Please install the BusinessObjects Enterprise .NET SDK from
Crystal Reports Server or BusinessObjects Enterprise and try again."

Then searching the Internet I found:

Workaround: Install the BusinessObjects Enterprise XI Release 2 .NET
SDK and Crystal Reports XI Release 2.

I work out of my house but the software will be deployed at a company which has all the licenses.

Can someone suggest what to do?

Do I need to buy something?

Thanks,

Dennis

Hi,

I have no idea why you can not see the data.
Could you please upload a project so that we can see where the problem is?

Sorry, I've never uploaded a project and cannot findthe process. Can you please point me to a link?

BTW, I have the exact same problem at the office. I set up a PC with VS2005 Professional, that is not connected to the network, and getthe same results.

I think it has something to do with using VS2005 Professional and not having the proper CR license. I think if I were using the Express version I could see the data. I posted a question about downloading VS2005 Express but there is no place left to download it. And C# 2008 Express does not support CR.
